After starting out as a foreign correspondent in China, Italy and Russia, Patrice Lorton became a filmmaker and then a producer. Starting in 2011, he co-led and then ran CAPA. In this capacity, he produces programmes and documentaries for linear TV and streaming platforms alike. As a strong advocate of the agency’s diversity, he promotes a generalist and broad approach, ranging from social networks to feature films.
Julien Adam has had the ambition of combining educational and entertainment purposes for over 15 years. At CAPA, he co-created the series Out of Control (RMC Story / RMC Découverte), which has been sold to over 80 countries, and directed Thomas Pesquet, l’odyssée de l’espace (France 2, 70 min). His current projects include Foudre, un éclair de génie (France 5, 90 min) and Compost, le trésor caché de nos déchets (France Télévisions, 90 min).
A lover of ancient history, Martin de la Fouchardière has made a name for himself with major works such as A to Z: The First Alphabet & How Writing Changed the World (Arte, PBS, BBC), Naachtun, la cité Maya oubliée (Arte) and Le Grand Voyage de Charles Darwin (Arte). He recently produced the series Grands vents (Arte) and is working on several other projects in the field of science, including Le procès du climat (90 min), a documentary film about an emblematic case of climate justice.
First and foremost a filmmaker (La grande malbouffe (Arte), Pédophilie dans l’Église, la fin de l’omerta (TF1)), Maud Gangler is a driving force behind projects where culture meets investigation. Her latest productions shine the light on cult movies (Back to the Future, Thelma and Louise, Jaws for Arte) or apply investigative techniques to the world of painting (Quelle histoire, enquête sur la Toile (Arte)).
As a former international reporter, Delphine Kluzek has retained a taste for fieldwork and telling the small stories that make up the big picture. She now produces films and series for TF1, with a special interest in societal news stories. She is behind the Netflix series Monique Olivier: Accessory to Evil, which she also co-produced.
After starting her career at the National Centre for Cinema and the Moving Image, Svetlana Klimoff became a producer at CAPA. Her films include Aux armes citoyennes, les femmes dans la Révolution française (Arte, 90 min), Marie-Antoinette confidentielle (Canal +, 6×26 min) and Shein, enquête sur le géant de la fast fashion (France TV Slash, 52 min). She primarily targets young audiences with a focus on emerging talent and pinning down the latest societal evolutions.
A former correspondent in South Africa, Anthony Orliange mainly works on geopolitical, historical and investigative films. He recently produced for France Télévisions Alsace, dans la tourmente de l’Histoire (France 3, 90 min), Action Directe, nos années de plomb (France 5, 70 min), as well as Hold-Up sur les Vieux (90 min) and Propagande, les nouveaux manipulateurs (90 min) for Arte.
Canadian-born writer and producer Sally Blake is no stranger to international co-productions and films. A multiple award-winner at major festivals (Jackson Wild, Hotdocs, SXSW), she has worked for the BBC, PBS and Netflix. Among her recent productions are Toronto Rock’n’Roll Revival (Arte, Crave, PBS) and Russians at War (Arte, Mostra selection). Her current projects focus on innovative writing and incorporate animation and VFX.
“There’s nothing more political than the intimate” – this is the underlying baseline of Andrea Rawlins’ films. A long-time filmmaker and now producer, she has spent the last 25 years reflecting on the topics of adolescence, sexuality and violence. While some of her films deal with sexual and gender-based violence, all of her works strive to have the greatest possible impact on their audience and help us all to reflect collectively.
Alexandra Jousset won the Albert Londres Prize as a filmmaker and is now developing geopolitical and investigative productions. Always on the lookout for new formats, she is the brain behind the digital magazine Sources (Arte) based on Osint techniques (open source investigation). A winner of the French-American Foundation’s Young Leaders Program, Alexandra is a graduate of IHEDN (Institute of Advanced Studies in National Defence).
Franck Duprat has been part of the CAPA venture since it first began in 1989, and ran the agency’s subsidiary in Spain for over 10 years. He has been at the helm of iconic French programmes such as Le Vrai Journal, Dimanche + and The Butterfly Effect. He now produces films on social and cultural issues for TF1, as well as geopolitical documentaries for Arte and FTV. One of his latest projects is Russia, Indoctrination of a Nation (France 5) which has won two Figra awards.
