When Marie-Laure, a mother of four young children, abruptly learns that her terminal cancer leaves her with only a few months to live, her thoughts turn solely to the happiness and future of her children. Determined that they grow up together in the same family, she faces the rigidity of social services, which deny her request. Undeterred, Marie-Laure refuses to give up. With the help of her loved ones and the media, she embarks on a relentless fight for the right to decide her children’s fate after her death, choosing their foster family herself.
This is an adaptation of the autobiographical book by Marie-Laure Picat, A Mother’s Courage.
